My commissary account serves as the main portal exchange for all my essential needs such as hygiene products, shoes, t-shirts, and food. We also have food sales such as Pizza Hut and other vendors like Churches Chicken. Inmate Council also has food trays that are prepared and sent to the barracks weekly. Food trays range from $8 - $10 dollars per week or you can do the month for around $40. I can also write inmate checks to pay my attorney fees, but once I buy food and other items I need, there's not much left. Upon electing to include this support option, I was on the fence because I did not want the wrong idea to be relayed. I swallowed my pride while also listening to the conversations that I would have with family and friends that have gone years without writing or speaking with me. Yet, they have always possessed the desire to send me money, but just did not know how. So, I wanted to make this option readily available for those that feel compelled to ensure that I possess the things that I need to balance out conformability as we continue to fight for justice and freedom. We don't get paid anything in Arkansas Prison, and $100 doesn’t really cover a lot if you look at some of the prices on Keefe's website or Walkenhorst commissary items. But most importantly, I want anyone that elects to send me money down here on the yard to know that it’s no misappropriation of funds going on. I'm extremely grateful beforehand and I would like to thank you in advance for your pledge to our mission.”
Respectfully - Jerry Herron
